Abstract: In the last couple of years, increased efforts of many research groups were devoted to the development of PSCs based on conjugated polymers. Polymer solar cells (PSCs) represent a new renewable, alternative source of electrical energy. They are an interesting alternative to the relative expensive inorganic solar cells.In polymer solar battery application, poly(phenylene ethynylene) copolymer shows some advantages,such as good fluorescence quantum efficiency and device stability. Meanwhile, it has high oxide potential energy and difficult to be oxidized by water and oxygen.In this paper,we synthesized poly(phenylene ethynylene) copolymer with dialkyloxy-benzene as the electron donor and 2,l,3-benzothiadiazole as the electron acceptor. The bulk heterojunction polymer photovoltaic devices based on the copolymer together with PCBM were fabricated and their photovoltaic performances were discussed.
