ABSTRACT
This paper first introduces the importance of manufacturing system, and the typical advanced manufacturing system, such as Lean Product System(LP), Computer Integrated Manufacturing System(CIMS), Agile Manufacturing System (AMS). Integrate the good idea of the advanced manufacturing system and the TOC theory to make the design of the mass line flow manufacturing system. Then take the design of the PDA manufacturing system. Finally simulate the PDA manufacturing system by witness software.
The whole paper consists of 6 chapters. Chapter 1 concentrates on the background, the purpose and significance of this captioned subject. Manufacturing system is a very important part of the severe competition of the supply chain. The competence of the supply somehow depends on the manufacturing system. Chapter 2 clarifies the interrelated theory of the design of manufacturing system. It introduces the definition and components of the manufacturing system, the design theory: lean product and TOC theory. Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 are the most important parts of the whole paper. Chapter 3 introduces the design process of manufacturing system. The design of manufacturing system is composed of the outside analysis and the inside design. The outside analysis includes the physics and technology environment, the economy and the management environment and the society environment. The inside design includes the physics system, the organization system and the information system. Chapter 4 elaborates the design of the PDA manufacturing system. The data source include the PDA production process and the standard work time, and follow the design process theory that is clarified in the chapter 3. Chapter 5 introduces the witness software and use the software to simulate the PDA manufacturing system,and then analyses the result of the simulation. Chapter 6 serves as the conclusion of the paper.
