Abstract
Steering Gear is a structure that transform the rotation of steering wheel to the swings of the steering arm(or the rotation of the rack along the car axle axial),and carries on the transmission according to certain angular gear ratio and the strength velocity ratio, besides it is a decelerating device . The structure and design parameters of Automotive steering gear affect not only the reliability and durability of the car, but also the performance of motor vehicles and economical performance.
To make the project I first learn something about how other rack and pinion steering gear is designed and manufactured, and try to find the defects they already have .Then I make some computation according to the data that the factory gives, at last design the structure and revision parts to avoid some problems that other products have. In this article, I mainly express the basic working principle and structural design of XH010 rack and pinion steering gear .After doing this project, I can master the basic ideas and methods of designing rack and pinion steering gear and lay a solid foundation for mechanical designing independently in the future.Key words: Steering System Steering Gear Rack and Pinion Structure Design;
