The international status of China have upgraded because of its rapid development of society and economy. The quantity of foreign visitors coming to China has a huge growth, more and more foreigners want to know about China and Chinese culture . Tourism is one of the most popular ways for people to relax, also it is the key to the cultural communication between different cultures. Under such a circumstance, tourism materials translation is of great importance in terms of conveying cultural message, and it is quite necessary to find a proper way to produce high-quality translation .German functional translation theory liberates the translator from the barrier of original paper, which emphasizes the communicative function of translation in the target language culture. Tourism texts have vocative function, informational function, and expressive function. As long as the translator spares no effort to make a good translation text, it is of great significance for the scenic spots. The Skopos Theory, the basis theory of the German functionalist theory, think that translation should have the viewpoint of reader-centered and the strategies of translation should be decided by the purpose of the version, which is applied for pragmatic translation. With the development of tourism, the tourism translation, a part of pragmatic translation has raised the translators' attention, especially the translation of scenic spots. Based on the Skopos Theory, this paper analyses the cultural discrepancy between the Orient and West and gives the corresponding strategies of translation which under the guidance of the Skopos Theory to promote the development of tourism and cultural communication.
Different culture in particular language culture and environment, edify down nurturance intrinsic aesthetic psychology and nurturance habit of appreciation. Different language expression of tourism texts, formed their own writing style and aesthetic standards, which is named as genre conventions. Nord has pointed out that “Genre conventions are the result of the standardization of communication practices. As certain kinds of text are used repeatedly in certain situations with more or less the same function or functions, these texts acquire conventional forms that are
sometimes even raised to the status of social norms. Genre conventions and norms thus play an important role in both text production” because authors have to comply with the convertions if they want to carry out their communicative intensions and text reception because recievers must infer the author’ sintensions from the conventional form of the text. From above, we can see that Genre conventions and norms play an important role in translation. Therefore, in order to conveys information effectively and appeal to audience, translator must consider the readers’ habits of appreciation and psychological feelings in tourism translation. They should make the text form consistent with the genre norms. In this sense, tourist translation pays more attention on the equivalence in content and function between the original text and the translation text. Instead of corresponding language form, it is also not a place aims to show the heterogeneity of the original language culture.
According to the functional translation theory, tourist translation should notice to highlight the translation appellative function, pay more attention to the effect of the information conveyment. In addition, it should accord with the receptor language norm and cultural standard language form to express the original meaning, so as to make the translation approximate the reader effect. New mark hold that, the readers of the text layer is the core of this kind of function. The translator should imitate target text to create a tool to produce a new intercommunication for the receptors. The dynamic equivalence focuses both on the effect and on the form, which achieves the two aims
